Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance within the steel industry, particularly having worked with prominent steel companies such as MS Life, Radha TMT, and Samrat Agency. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and company policies.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger by ensuring the accuracy of journal entries, accounts, and reconciliations for various financial activities within the steel industry.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation, particularly for steel purchases, sales, and inventory transactions.
  • Cost Accounting: Support cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, material costs, and production-related expenses within a steel manufacturing context.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure proper handling of tax reporting, filings, and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal tax regulations, including excise and GST for steel industries.
  • Auditing: Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis, contributing to financial planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal controls to prevent errors, fraud, and inefficiencies in accounting processes.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, sales, and production teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, inventory management, and cost tracking.
  • ERP/Accounting Software Management: Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting efficiency.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior role, ideally in a steel manufacturing company such as MS Life, Radha TMT, or Samrat Agency.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, cost accounting, and taxation, particularly within the steel or manufacturing industries.
  • Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., Tally, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing financial aspects of steel production and distribution.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, including those for the steel sector.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior accountants or accounting teams.
