Job Description Job Description A growing international manufacturing organization is looking for a Cost Accountant at its headquarters. This role will work closely on a team of Cost Accountants, Senior Cost Accountants and Manufacturing Controllers in coordination with the finance and operations teams in several locations as well as corporate finance and accounting. This role will work on cost variance analysis, bills of material (BoMs), audit support, assist with month-end close, cost accounting transaction entries, reconciliations, inventory reporting, analysis and other related functions. This position will get to learn a great deal of information about company operations as it will work closely with some of the company's most valued assets, making it ideal for career development with options to grow in to a Plant Controller, Financial Analyst or Corporate Accountant.

The Cost Accountant does have a complex learning curve and expects to offer a challenge to incoming employees. Due to the in-depth knowledge of company operating knowledge people gain about the company in cost accounting, this group is a frequent recruiting ground for roles in other departments. This position will have some travel, but it is minimal (3-4 trips per year at most).

Candidates for this Cost Accountant opportunity must have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, either 1+ years of corporate accounting on an ERP system, OR 1+ years working in public accounting, capable Excel skills with Pivots and V-Lookups (more advanced functions will be taught), and intermediate general ledger knowledge. It is preferred that candidates have manufacturing experience with cost accounting knowledge or inventory accounting, but a capable general accounting skill set with a strong interest in learning cost accounting may be considered. A CPA, CMA, public accounting experience, SQL query experience and/or ERP implementation experience are all a plus, but not required.

Compensation range is $65,000 - 80,000 plus bonus potential, strong benefits plan (great insurance coverage, free parking, etc.) and a reasonably flexible schedule.
