REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Will report to - Head of Direct and International tax
EXPERIENCE:
8+ years of Corporate Tax experience in Consultancy and Corporate. Articleship with Big4 also preferred.
CRITICAL QUALITIES:
•Chartered Accountant with 8+ years of experience in corporate tax, preferably within the Pharma/FMCG/ Manufacturing industries. •Strong experience in tax compliance, litigation, and advisory in corporate tax. •Expertise in international tax, cross-border transactions, and regulatory frameworks. •Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. •Experience in tax planning for multinational corporations and managing tax audits. •Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software and working knowledge of SAP •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
EXPERIENCE:KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITY
•Tax Compliance & Reporting: •Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including advance tax, return of income, statutory closing, tax audits, other tax forms •Preparing and monitoring quarterly tax computation including deferred tax calculations •Ensure timely submission of tax returns and statutory filings, optimizing tax position. •Monitor the monthly effective tax rate (ETR) and update management with required reporting. •Tax Risk Management: •Handle corporate tax assessments and manage responses to show cause notices and other tax proceedings. •Proactively manage tax risks and minimize uncertain tax positions and tax leakages. •Represent the company in dealings with tax authorities and external stakeholders. •Ensure proper tax planning and implementation of strategies to optimize tax efficiency for cross-border transactions and acquisitions. •Advisory & Strategy: •Provide tax advisory support for internal business developments, restructuring, and other tax matters. •Assist in India tax and profitability planning, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders. •Monitor changes in national and international tax regulations, ensuring compliance and identifying new opportunities. •International Tax Management: •Oversee tax implications for employees moving across countries, ensuring compliance with international tax laws. •Support with international tax matters, optimizing withholding taxes, provisions, and cross-border business transactions. •Ensure the development of contingency plans in response to potential changes in domestic or international tax laws. •Stakeholder Management: •Maintain strong relationships with internal teams (Finance, Shared Service, Treasury, etc.) and external stakeholders. •Support senior tax management in delivering tax-related training and knowledge sessions. •Work closely with business teams to ensure tax-efficient structures and operations. •Project Management & Process Improvement: •Drive tax-related projects, SAP implementation, tax compliance processes, and system improvements. •Identify opportunities for digitization to improve tax department efficiency.
