Job Function & Qualifications

Purpose of Position

The Chief Financial Officer provides the leadership to ensure financial health and growth, provides strategic financial guidance, and manages financial reporting and budgeting for the organization. The position oversees the company's financial operations, focusing on the long-term vision and strategic goals of the business, and is ultimately responsible for guiding the company toward financial success.

The Chief Financial Officer will collaborate with owners and executives, oversee financial strategy, and develop growth plans while also maintaining responsibility for analyzing budgets, account management, ensuring compliance, and monitoring cash flow. The key leadership position owns the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process that must deliver relevant analyses and data to the businesses and their leaders. The Chief Financial Officer oversees all financial tasks of the company and ensures we use capital and resources in a fiscally responsible manner.

Essential Functions and Skills
  • Lead, coach, and support financial team to achieve annual business goals
  • Collaborate with business leaders to develop financial plans / budgets that meet the requirements of the company
  • Recognize patterns in company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas
  • Critically examine the risks to, and expected returns on, different strategy alternatives
  • Ensure suitable metrics are in place to measure financial performance and progress
  • Excellent leadership skills, business acumen, and ability to effectively manage, lead, and supervise a team
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting ERP software, corporate principals, and financial analysis
  • Multi-site and multi-state financial operations experience
  • Resourceful problem solver with a demonstrated history of success and results
  • Proven track record of successful financial management through experience as a Head of Finance, Director of Finance, or similar role
  • Capital management and hands-on merger and acquisition experience
  • Ability to communicate strategy effectively throughout the company
  • Excel at strategic thinking, be open to new perspectives and better ways to do things
