We are seeking a Controller to join a reputable professional services company with our client in Bakersfield. As the Controller, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the accounting and financial operations of the company including general accounting, reporting, property accounting, internal controls, budgetary controls, and more.

Responsibilities:
    • Manage and coordinate month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
    • Maintain the firm's chart of accounts and ensure all financial records are kept in accordance with GAAP
    • Support tax planning and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings
    • Lead the development of the firm's annual budget and manage monthly analyses, identifying variances and providing explanations
    • Oversee cost accounting procedures and the preparation of statistical and regular reports to monitor financial performance.
    • Supervise the firm's 401k program, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing annual audits, and facilitating quarterly committee meetings.
    • Conduct analyses of economic, business, and financial trends to evaluate their impact on the firm's policies and operations.
    • Contribute to the firm's strategic planning efforts
    • Oversee software upgrades and assess the firm's financial and accounting system needs.
    • Perform additional duties as required, supporting the firm's overall operations and objectives.

Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

$120,000 - $140,000 a year
