As a Legal Entity Controller Analyst in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the integrity of books and records (both local and USGAAP) of the legal entity, ensuring adherence to Legal Entity Control Standards and other applicable global policies.
- Performing FX trade-out to manage foreign currency-related exposures in accordance with approved procedures.
- Analyzing legal entity balance sheet and P&L movements, and explaining drivers with appropriate business commentary. Preparing and submitting various statistical returns and surveys.
- Reviewing and explaining variance in expenses at the product and line of business (LOB) level, and providing summary results to the Legal Entity Controller (LEC).
- Posting month-end journal entries for audit accruals and preparing their reconciliation.
- Preparing and delivering MIS reports to senior management along with various management packs.
- Performing analytical review and liaising with LOB Controllers to ensure legal entity financial results align with the legal entity booking model.
- Reconciling general ledger accounts and attesting to their accuracy, resolving inter-entity and investment-equity breaks.
- Managing swift and appropriate responses to audit queries, and participating in team-wide innovation, efficiency, and automation projects.
- Ensuring up-to-date process documentation and developing key control checks.
- Liaising with various internal teams such as tax, financial controllers, and internal audit to resolve queries.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Chartered Accountant withMinimum 1year of experience.
- Strong team player and possesses good inter-personal skills required to work effectively with varied individuals across departments and teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong control mindset and analytical skills
- Self-starter with ability to take initiative and constantly challenge the process
- Ability to multi-task complex requirements under considerable time pressure, whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality
- Strong PC skills including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access and Lotus Notes.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Technical knowledge and understanding of IFRS accounting would be desired
- Investment Banking product knowledge including derivatives, equities and debt securities would be an advantage
- Knowledge of GL platforms used in J.P. Morgan Chase would be an advantage
- Experience preferably with financial services industry and experience of US GAAP
