Our client, a reputable non-profit organization in Brooklyn, is looking for a Controller. This is a temp to perm role, and the successful candidate must be immediately available to start a new role.
Client Details
Well known non-profit organization based in Brooklyn. This role offers hybrid flexibility and potential for FTE within 6 months.
Description
This role will involve:
Prepare work papers for all audits, including an annual audit and coordinate the audit activity with outside auditors, including all relevant documentation and filings (such as 990, CHAR500 and 5500 filings)
Prepare annual financial statements, notes to the financial statements and supporting analysis.
Oversee investment accounting, cash receipts and journal entries posting
Monitor accounting, financial reporting and internal control systems throughout the Finance office and other departments
Maintain and track all government funding sources and ensure compliance with regulatory/contractual obligations
Review all payroll processes and reporting including variances
Assist the CFO with financial forecasting
Prepare and submit an annual CFR report
Monitor cash flow and ensure best practices, prepare reports and make recommendations
Assist the CFO in preparing, interpreting and presenting reports necessary to the Board of Directors and its committees and sub-committees
Perform other related duties as required
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
Eight years in fiscal management
Non profit or healthcare experience required including experience working on government contracts
Proficiency in Sage Intacct for Nonprofits Software
Advanced Excel skills required including Pivot Table
Experience in successfully supervising finance staff
Experience in successfully executing New York State CFR required
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated success in consistently delivering complex financial/accounting assignments in a complete, accurate and on-time manner without frequent supervision
Ability to work independently and take initiative
