Construction Controller

Are you a seasoned accounting professional with a passion for the construction industry? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and excel at rolling up your sleeves to get into the details? Seeking a Commercial Construction Controller to join a team and oversee the financial operations of a growing construction company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 accounting professionals, ensuring accurate and timely financial processes.
• Software Expertise: Utilize Procore, Textura, and Sage 300 to manage project-related finances and streamline operations.
• Full-Cycle Accounting: Oversee and participate in journal entries, job cost tracking, WIP schedules, and month-end financial closings.
• Banking & Payroll: Maintain strong banking relationships, manage in-house payroll, and oversee health benefits and 401(k) enrollment.
• Financial Oversight: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Construction Industry Focus: Leverage your experience with general contractors (GCs) and trade work to handle industry-specific accounting challenges.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a Controller role within the commercial construction industry.
• Expertise with Procore, Textura, and Sage 300 software.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP accounting, and construction financial processes.
• Demonstrated tenure and stability in past roles (longevity is highly valued!).
• Hands-on approach to accounting tasks-you're not afraid to dive into the details.
• Experience managing benefits, payroll, and banking relationships.
