Join us as a Financial Control Manager

  • You’ll be responsible for the delivery of the balance sheet assurance via performing deep dives across NatWest.
  • We’ll look to you to lead teams to make accurate and timely delivery of deep-dives assurance reports and perform adhoc analysis.

What you'll do

As Financial Control Manager, you’ll be accountable for your team’s performance and reports delivery, and will implement performance measures, promoting a culture of data ad information quality.

You’ll set the control frameworks and deliverable governance framework aligned to our overall strategy, ensuring adherence to the strategy, operating model and process architecture principles.

In addition, you’ll:

  • Actively participate in strategic initiatives including support to onshore teams
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture in the team
  • Perform deep dive assurance across the NatWest Group Balance sheet within a Balance Sheet Assurance Framework and understand the key business drivers
  • Set and manage internal controls, such as the develop control framework
  • Provide a quality assurance of all outputs to ensure that they are fully reconciled and delivered in accordance with the Group Policy Control Framework and that they fit customer requirements.


The skills you'll need

We’re looking for an individual with excellent transferable experience of working in a large multinational financial services environment, preferably in audit and assurance. You’ll have extensive experience leading, motivating and directing a small team, and ideally have experience of global working.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A relevant qualification in CA and proficiency in accounting with experience in audit or assurance
  • Experience of delivering to and engaging with colleagues covering a broad range of grades and skills
  • Detailed understanding of finance processes from local ledger control to external statutory regulatory reporting
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS excel, PowerPoint.
  • The proven ability to drive culture and generate several ways forward to achieve team objectives
  • Experience in stakeholder management, team management and relationship management
