Incumbent will be responsible to strategize and drive improvement opportunities to manage the risk, audit, and governance program within Payment Strategy and Operations. The qualified candidate should have sound working knowledge of managing Internal/External Audits, risk of third-party onboarding, purchase requisitions/orders, Invoicing, and lead to establish a strong and effective control framework within payment operations
He/ She will lead discussions with various cross functional teams & stakeholders like SOX Risk & Audit, Ops Excellence, Internal/External Auditors, LOBCOs, Tech Capabilities & Product Owner, and AXP Business Users to ensure smooth operations across the GSM process and minimize risk. He/ She will also be responsible to drive efficiencies & improvement opportunities in the risk & governance program within Payment Strategy and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular risk based internal audits for multiple sub-processes within procurement & payment function to highlight process gaps and control deficiencies
- Lead review of root cause analysis of risk events as an input to the development of preventive controls and ensure implementation of controls
- Validate design and operating effectiveness of Internal controls to support control owners / process owners in quarterly assertion process
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including business, Auditors, IAG, Operational excellence, etc. for internal / external audits and internal control testing
- Interact with business partners to identify gaps in process and fix them proactively
- Being able to deal with an environment of continuous change, with the need to absorb information quickly, think laterally and work independently.
- Needs to build business relationships and to collaborate with business partners.
- Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Qualifications:
Professional degree preferred (MBA Finance/Chartered Accountant/Post-Graduate/CIA) with at least 2-3 years of post-qualification work experience in internal/external audits, process reviews, risk & compliance, internal controls and audit management. Relevant experience of procurement and payments processes will be preferred.
Functional Skills/Capabilities:
- Strong influencing skills with ability to consistently deliver value on control enhancement and risk mitigation.
- Positive attitude, flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity and rapid change
- Result oriented with excellent problem-solving ability in Risk & Control domain
- Highly organized and meticulous attention to detail is essential to the role.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills including the ability to conceptualize and break down complex issues into actionable tasks.
- Knowledge of Procurement & Payment processes, system & related controls would be a plus
- Meet stringent deadlines, eye for detail, excellent organizational and analytical skills.
