Job Summary
Caterpillar's Integrated Components & Solutions (ICS) Division has an open Accountant (Financial Analyst) position to support profitability reporting and analysis. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated finance professional who wants a fulfilling opportunity championing our Global Finance Transformation from Caterpillar's Analytics Center of Excellence (ACOE).
This individual contributor role will primarily support onshore partners by providing monthly financial analysis and developing new tools that deliver insights to business partners.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore, Whitefield office
What you will do
Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Profitability Reporting & Analysis:
- Perform aspects of accounting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis for business partners
- Support monthly results presentations to leadership by providing insights on financial results, including period cost variance analysis
- Develop new tools and analytics to streamline financial analysis
- Participate in strategy development and key initiatives as necessary
Process Transition & Improvement:
- Transition projects based on timelines, business requirements, and defined metrics/KPIs
- Create, define, and own process documentation and tracking
- Partner with multiple global stakeholders daily
- Identify and leverage tools and technologies to transform processes
- Drive continuous improvement via Simplification, Standardization and Automation (SSA)
What you will have
- Accounting : Working knowledge of basis of allocation, methodology and processes
- Financial Analysis : Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
- Financial Reporting : Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports
- Education / Certification : This position requires CA or MBA Finance with 7-10+ years of progressive experience
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail : Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Effective Communication : Strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and interpersonal skills.

- Systems : Knowledge of using tools such as Axiom, SAP Business Objects (BOBJ), SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) and other Financial reporting software and tools
