Accountabilities/Responsibilities
• Responsible for the production of the Income Statement and related disclosure in Tagetik ensuring compliance with reporting requirements & liaison with Revenue & Expense accountants.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data for Tagetik submissions across all insurance regulated entities.
• Produce flash results of Income Statement submissions and commentary on movements.
• Analysis of profit load into Tagetik ensuring that its consistent with the Income Statement and disclosures.
• Perform high-level analysis of revenue and expenses before handover of the Income Statement to the Reporting Analysis team.
• Production of the regulated insurance entities’ contribution to Group IFRS accounts.
• Liaise with Revenue & Expense accountants to resolve validations errors in Tagetik.
• Adhere with current accounting standards and Insurance procedures to maintain a robust financial control regime.
• Support the implementation of new accounting standards and delivery of other finance change projects.
• Address and resolve audit inquiries in a timely manner.
• Ad hoc tasks and participation in ad hoc projects to support continuous improvement and process enhancement.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS (or the equivalent) principles.
• Knowledge of regulatory Solvency II is advantageous
• High analytical skills and attention to detail to identify trends and discrepancies.
• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with other accountants, explain financial results, and document processes and adjustments.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a team and independently.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to investigate and resolve complex financial reporting issues and discrepancies effectively.
• Adept at building relationships to liaise with revenue/expenses teams to resolve validations.
Experience:
• Experience in financial reporting and consolidation (preferably for a life insurer) on UK GAAP &IFRS basis.
• Practical experience with consolidation tools. Tagetik experience is advantageous.
• Strong experience of utilising Excel and handling large volumes of data.
Educational Qualification:
• Chartered accountant qualification (CA) or the equivalent
