Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Experience in managing project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and comprehensive project documentation.
  • Ability to anticipate questions and challenges, propose next steps and roadblock solutions, and effectively manage time and follow work plans.
  • Ability to approach with a strong work ethic, capable of growing in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and international teams, and engage with executive management and partners.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a proven track record of taking initiatives and working independently.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations and close processes, including key report data validation, preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet and profit and loss variance analysis, monthly financial reporting, etc.
  • Prepare post-close audit files required from Alphabet, International, Cloud, and External Audit requests. Design and implement solutions that can scale, while identifying and escalating barriers to management.
  • Navigate, pursue, and achieve access to key data sources. Create exceptional detailed documentation for all processes and tasks with the expectation of keeping these up-to-date with an ever changing environment.
  • Elevate steady-state manual processes to a semi-automated or automated scalable solution. Understand the existing control environment with the ability to further identify risks and effectively communicate and execute opportunities for improvements.
  • Manage data consistency cross various systems and be responsible for related IPE testings.
