An Energetic, motivated and analytical accounting professional reporting to Global Controllership. The staff accountant supports both internal and external financial reporting and analysis, assists with the enaction of accounting and finance policies and procedures, validating proper support of the accounting information, and other ad hoc tasks in the financial process. The staff accountant will work with various team members globally in a collaborative environment to improve business and accounting processes, Financial Reports, data clean-up, and on-going support. This position’s location is flexible/remote (preference for America's working hours).

Responsibilities
  • Performs general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and reports, identify, and correct issues raised at the global or regional level.
  • Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, internal payroll posting for various countries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
  • Assists in preparing providing schedules and commentary with respect to operating maintenance accounts results and variances, and with the production of financial statements and applicable commentary.
  • Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends including gross wages and tax reconciliations for external accounts.
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.
  • Assisting global accounting team with regards to general accounting inquiries and Sage Intacct-related questions.
  • Work on Ad hoc projects based on the requirements from Global Finance team


Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • An accounting certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CFA)
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance with global exposure to multiple countries.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP or IFRS.
  • Big 4 audit experience is considered as an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (other languages are a plus)
  • Data driven person, must be detail oriented with an eye for mistakes.
  • Good organizational, time management, customer service skills
  • Self-starter, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with global team.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel(Pivot tables, Logical formulas) and word is required.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software or similar systems preferred.
