Job Description

Plant Finance Controller - Sricity, Andhra Pradesh

(Approx. - 50 km north of the metropolis of Chennai)

You will partner with plant management and manage the overall financial integrity and performance of this manufacturing site which is the biggest manufacturing unit for Mondelēz in Asia Pacific. You will support the Plant Leadership team in preparing and executing business proposals, verifying assumptions, and being key driver for daily execution. You will manage finance for a complex plant cluster. This position will be responsible for completing activities applicable to product costing, capital budget preparation, operational variance analysis, annual operating plan development, internal compliance and control reviews, capex accounting and cost improvement analysis. Development of long-term manufacturing plans for the site and identifying value optimization opportunities is a key deliverable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Driving cost review process to ensure adherence to annual budgets
  • Managing the cost efficiency program of the unit with periodic review of site performance on key financial & operational indices and developing long term cost roadmap with the factory leadership.
  • Maintaining accounting process and system hygiene with adherence to SOP’s
  • Drive working capital management in factory
  • Balance sheet review to drive hygiene and accounting compliance
  • Maintain costing systems and support new product costing
  • Driving effective risk management at the site with robust finance processes including SOX controls
  • Interaction with auditors (Statutory, Internal, Sox) with overall responsibility for the financial controls at the unit
  • Ensuring that the records/returns required under various commercial laws are kept/submitted properly and up-to-date, and also ensuring that various commercial laws are complied with.
  • Working with the legal and central taxation team on handling tax issues.
  • Preparation of capital budgets for the unit. Evaluation of financial viability of capital investments. Monitoring and controlling the capital spends and driving capital stewardship
  • Drive process improvement through benchmarking within and outside the organization
  • Contributing to Mondelēz Supply Chain initiatives such as IL6S, HPWS and other plant specific agenda, as part of plant leadership team.
  • People development, including embedding of high-performance work systems culture, implementation of rigorous performance appraisal (KRA) and training system for subordinates.
  • Manage finance planning and performance management processes and related financial decisions potentially including strategic plan and annual contract planning/forecasting, target development, financial performance reporting/analysis, financial modeling and decision support for a manufacturing plant.
  • Support a strong controls and compliance environment in the manufacturing plant. You will also ensure that policies are understood in the organization and that proper controls and compliance are in place.
  • Partner with plant management to provide critical financial perspective and insight for business strategies and decisions. You will also monitor and adjust execution of actions.
  • Drive for harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and build a mindset of continuous improvement within finance and plant teams to drive cost savings.
  • Build a high-performing Finance team. You will also recruit and develop Finance talent and drive our Finance talent agenda with a focus on Supply Chain/plant controlling.


Experience
  • Minimum 11 years of finance experience, ideally in a manufacturing or plant environment with exposure to complex, high-volume operations.
  • Proven experience in plant finance management, (product costing, capital budgeting, operational variance analysis, financial planning, and performance management)
  • Experience in driving cost efficiency programs and working capital management.
  • Proficient in partnering with cross-functional teams, especially plant leadership, to guide financial decision-making, cost management, and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in people development and fostering a high-performance culture, ideally in a manufacturing context.


Qualifications
  • Professional qualification: Chartered Accountant / MBA in Finance or anything equivalent
  • Sector expertise: Extensive background in the manufacturing industry, with a solid understanding of plant operations and financial processes.
