As the Financial Planning & Analysis professional in our Consumer & Community Banking [CCB], you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm
Your team will be CCB connected Commerce Finance Planning and Analysis group which supports the Cards and Connected Commerce Chief Financial Officers and the CCB Planning & Analysis organization (P&A), Partner and Brand Chief Financial Officer teams. The group partners with senior Finance leaders and their teams across the Cards & Connected Commerce businesses and serves as an analytical and reporting resource to help leaders understand and manage all financial aspects of the business.
The Cards & Connected Commerce Finance team provides real-time insights to Cards and Connected Commerce leadership on Business Performance, Annual operating plans, Standard financial reporting, Bespoke analysis, Investment decisioning, Marketing analytics, Card Planning and Analysis, Card Forecasting Modelling and Financial Analytics. The team is structured with dedicated Chief Financial Officers or Chief Financial Officer support teams, with each card product having its own on dedicated Profit and loss and subsequent Balance sheet impacts. Team is adept translating business scenarios to actionable financial insights and is called upon to help on real time business decisioning on a variety of topics.

Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including financial control, forecasting, and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g., dashboards), and advising the line of business Chief Financial Officer on how to increase profitability and efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities:
- Managing annual/continual financial planning activities for product areas, providing business rational and decisions for all month-end financial performance and forecasting, conducting reviews and analysis on product financial performance, consumption/demand planning, budgeting, billing, trends, and exception reports
- Develop recommendations effecting business procedures and operations and maintain financial and reporting systems, efficiency reporting, analytics, and strategy - including, but not limited to - location strategy, span of control, reporting and analytics. Creating financial business cases supporting business initiatives
- Reporting on and monitoring key metrics, driving data quality initiatives across the product area, and helping define future needs of the product area
- Developing and tracking performance metrics, creating presentations, and generally providing financial analysis on a variety of topics to senior management
- Helping design new reports and dashboards to efficiently deliver the financial results to senior management. Enhancing controls and streamlining processes, introducing automation where possible. Prepare insightful, high quality Senior Management presentations
- Prepare analytical insights by partner reports. Prepare Customer Penetration Metrics. Support ad hoc requests from the Business and Senior Management. Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly reports as required. Knowledge of Essbase, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic Analysis, Systems, Applications & Products in Data Processing (SAP), etc. is added advantage
- Ensure that reports are insightful and contain commentary on key movements and watch items
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Chartered Accountant/ CFA/ MBA (Finance) (or similar educational background) with 12+ years of post-qualification experience
- Strong financial analytical skills - Fusion of Finance and Data Capabilities
- Strong Team Management Skills - With experience in managing Associate level population
- Excellent communication and partnering skills. Ability to multi-task and work autonomously within team environment
- Ability to research issues/problems and provide a 'solution-based' approach
- Adaptable to change and ambiguity in the work environment
- Expert knowledge of Excel (i.e. use of pivot tables, macros, arrays, etc), Microsoft Access. Knowledge of Essbase. Inquisitive, enthusiastic, and diligent, and capable of challenging status quo
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in banking industry preferred
- Background in Data Science a strong plus. Experience in SQL/SAS/Python/Tableau a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
