Overview:
Avance Care is in the business of improving the standard of healthcare. As one of the largest networks of independent primary care practices in North Carolina, we provide comprehensive care for our patient's physical, mental, and emotional health.
We are currently hiring a highly technical, detail-oriented, and process-improvement-driven Assistant Controller team member to help us continue to grow our accounting department.
Serve as a primary liaison for the preparation of financial statements across all subsidiaries.
Routine maintenance of general ledgers, sub-ledgers, and trial balances for Avance Care and affiliates, according to GAAP
Lead and/or assist with the implementation, onboarding, and setup of new entities
Develop and implement processes to improve the accounting function across all legal entities, and to foster collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Create and maintain Key Financial metrics for senior leadership.
Selected Responsibilities:
Lead the research, documentation, and implementation of new accounting standards and complex accounting topics, ensuring company-wide compliance.
Evaluate the accounting and financial reporting implications of significant transactions, including M&As, new service offerings, and enterprise-wide contracts.
Develop and implement SOX policies and procedures in compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Monitor revenue streams, including patient services, insurance reimbursements, government programs, and other revenue sources.
Assist with the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, RCM, tax, internal audit, operations, and IT to ensure seamless financial operations.
Target candidates should bring 5+ years of progressive accounting experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and CPA/CMA and/or Master's degree are strongly preferred.
Other Priorities:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel skills
Results-oriented and thrives in a deadline-driven environment
Strong analytical skills and financial analysis skills
Experience in NetSuite, Oracle solutions, and PowerBI preferred
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize
