Accountabilities/Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall Tagetik Balance Sheet submission and ensuring the accurate completion of the quantitative reporting templates necessary for Solvency II Review for all Insurance entities
  • Production and review of flash results of Balance Sheet submissions, high level analysis and commentary on movements
  • Production and review of intercompany and consolidation Tagetik adjustments, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all adjustments
  • Production and review of annual and quarterly Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRT’s) for local regulatory Solvency II Reporting which includes SII Balance sheet, Assets, Own funds
  • Together with the Balance Sheet Accounting lead provide signoff of Balance Sheet and Solvency II position QRT’s before handover to Reporting Analysis team
  • Ensure compliance with current accounting standards and Insurance procedures to maintain a robust financial control regime
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and delivery of other finance change projects
  • Open to change and continuously reviewing and improving the consolidation and regulatory reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Maintain effective working relationship with the Reporting Production Lead and other areas across M&G
  • Keep up to date with the latest accounting and regulatory developments
  • Strategically plan and allocate tasks to meet deadlines
  • Be accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders
  • Manage, coordinate, and support external audit process for areas of responsibility
  • Produce inputs into the Statutory board reports and attend where required
  • Ad hoc tasks and participation in ad hoc projects to support continuous improvement and process enhancement

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (or the equivalent) reporting
  • Knowledge of regulatory Solvency II is advantageous
  • Familiarity with regulatory Solvency II and other regulatory reporting requirements relevant to the insurance industry in the United Kingdom
  • Capacity to lead and manage a team, providing direction, support and development opportunities.
  • Adept at building relationships at all levels and has confidence communicating with a variety of stakeholders
  • High analytical skills and understanding of trends
  • Ability to contribute to strategic planning and decision making
  • Openness to innovation and encourage creativity in the team
  • Strong problem -solving abilities to address and resolve issues that may arise during the consolidation and reporting process
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills


Experience:
  • Practical experience with consolidation and intercompany adjustments processes for a Life Insurer
  • Experience with financial consolidation and reporting tools


Educational Qualification:
  • Chartered accountant qualification (CA) or the equivalent
