Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall production of the Tagetik Balance sheet submission & liaison with Balance Sheet accountants

• Produce flash results of Balance Sheet submissions and commentary on movements

• Perform high-level analysis before handover of the Balance Sheet to the Reporting Analysis team

• Produce the Intercompany and consolidation Tagetik adjustments

• Production of the regulated insurance entities’ contribution to Group IFRS accounts

• Adhere with current accounting standards and Insurance procedures to maintain a robust financial control regime

• Support the implementation of new accounting standards and delivery of other finance change projects

• Support the responding and closing of audit queries

• Ad hoc tasks and participation in ad hoc projects to support continuous improvement and process enhancement

Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS (or the equivalent) principles

• Knowledge of regulatory Solvency II is advantageous

• High analytical skills and attention to detail to identify trends and discrepancies

• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload

Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with other accountants, explain financial results, and document processes and adjustments

• Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a team and independently

• Strong problem solving capabilities and ability to investigate and resolve complex financial reporting issues and discrepancies effectively

• Adept at building relationships to liaise with balance sheet teams to resolve validations

Experience:

• Experience in financial reporting and consolidation (preferably for a life insurer) on UK GAAP, Solvency II&IFRS basis

• Practical experience with consolidation tools

• Tagetik experience (advantageous)

• Strong experience of utilising Excel and handling large volumes of data

Educational Qualification: • Chartered accountant qualification (CA) or the equivalent
