VP Finance from Consumer Packaged Goods Industry
Role details:
One of the fastest growing natural brands in the country and their explosive growth requires more of a need than ever to assist in leading the management and strategy of multiple third-party manufacturing facilities. This is a highly collaborative, executive position that will work across each internal function.
General Functions + Job Responsibilities:
First devoted Finance hire will be responsible for building the function from scratch and rolling up your sleeves.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis of our business and develop understanding of revenue drivers to identify improvement areas and opportunities.
Manage/mentor others in your function; great magnet for talent; org design experience.
Prepare investor-ready financial analyses, fundraising materials, strategic planning, exploration of market direction, and investor/board updates.
Drive projects for the executive team and Board of Directors.
Priority projects include:
Manage the finance data infrastructure to understand and own how the company collects and uses data.
Build processes and infrastructure to effectively track and scale revenue.
Dig into marketing analytics and pricing strategy (bundling, retention, and customer segmentation).
Office Policy: 3 potential options:
Remote if based out of Los Angeles, CA (must be in in Los Angeles, CA).
Hybrid if based in Chicago, IL.
Hybrid if based in San Diego, CA.
Interview Process: Screen -> Head of Recruiting -> President -> COO -> CEO
Must have:
Education: Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting.
Financial Modeling Experience: Built operating models to evaluate new business opportunities within Client.
Accounting Modeling Experience: Implemented audit-ready accounting processes.
Cross Functional Experience: Worked with non-finance functional executives to provide structure and accountability on strategic objectives across the company.
Experience: Managed major finance initiatives as a growth-stage startup.
Leadership Experience: 3+ years managerial experience.
Industry Experience: Deep knowledge of the client category.
Professional Experience: 6+ years of progressive financial management experience.
Food + Bev Industry experience required, ideally having worked in a growth venture-backed environment.

Education: CPA
Certification: MBA.
