The role is accountable for large multi-department area(s) or location(s) with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy. The role serves as a key advisor to senior management, analyzing financial results, and providing strategic recommendations. The role collaborates with the leadership as a strategic partner and also drives talent management activities. Plans, manages and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' primary focus is on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues or a combination of both. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Demonstrates the strong FP&A attributes like financial data Analytics, business Acumen and consultation, planning, budget and forecast, scenario planning, financial prudence, SBTN and Variance analysis, to drive the better business outcome and financial reporting.
Typically manages 10 or more direct reports. Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.

Responsibilities
- Manages a team typically supports a large and complex business unit or finance function.
- Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.
- Drives talent management, employee selection, succession planning, performance management, compensation management, employee development and coaching in career development, and operational management.
- Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization.
- Leads complex financial analysis for a global business or finance function, exercising a strong understanding of the business to determine the best method for achieving objectives.
- Oversees the review and analyses of key controls within the financial process to ensure compliance with relevant legal and accounting requirements.
- Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis to the business.
- Consults with business leaders to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope (e.g., long-term business planning, product analysis and development, balancing risk, approving significant deals, etc.)
- Proactively drives process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function globally.
- Creates an annual financial operating plan that is aligned to the strategic plan and performs forecasting of business results including building, reviewing, and maintaining financial models.
- Collaborates with leadership as a strategic partner, influencing the future direction of the respective segment and aligning business and finance strategy to generate sustainable, profitable growth.
- Actively reviews, analyzes, and manages the key controls within the domain of responsibility to ensure compliance with legal and accounting requirements (e.g., GAAP, SBC, AFM).
- Manages external vendors (e.g., auditors).
- Provides leadership during implementation of business-wide programs and products.
- Key organization partners include Corporate Communications, Legal, FP&A, Treasury, Strategy, and Business operations.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Graduate degree/First level university degree in Business Administration or economics, Finance, advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CA, CPA, MBA) preferred.
- Typically, 10+ years of experience as a financial analyst in multiple finance functions, especially FP&A, BU finance, and/or project experience
- Typically, 2+ years of supervisory and/or leading a project team experience.
