Financial Reporting Accountant - Pune“Life Unlimited” At Smith+Nephew. We design and Manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.This role supports the delivery of high quality, timely reporting for group and management, and for driving ongoing process improvement. It includes monitoring and optimization of activities currently performed.What will you be doing?The Reporting Accountant has to deliver high quality, timely group reporting. Ensure that Balance Sheet and PL is compliant with financial reporting requirements (IFRS).Responsible for problem solving and recommending solutions to Financial Controller.Ensures the Business Unit aligns to internal polices & controls.Accountable for balance sheet integrity and reconciliations, to safeguard assets and to ensure the optimal use of resources across the business; and to ensure that any ageing of balances is fully investigated and resolved.Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives e.g. process standardization and business efficiencies, with the aim to lower cost, improve service and reduce compliance risk.Prepare requests for the external and internal auditors, other advisors and relevant country Authorities.Coordinate RTR activities for Spanish entity:
  • Prepare monthly journals.
  • Coordinate month end activities.
  • Run reports as per schedule and requests.
  • Prepare accounts reconciliations, with identification and resolving open items.
Support Iberia Country Controller in internal and external audits.Cultivate good relationship with peers in India and Poland.Propose improvements and automation.Perform internal controls activities.What will you need : to be Successful?Education: Post Graduate Degree - M.Com / MBANice to have : Qualified Accountant (i.e ACA / ACCA / CA / CPA / CMA or equivalent)Minimum 3+ years of experience preferably in Financial ReportingFluent in EnglishSAP ExperienceSoft skills: Communicate effectively, Demonstrating care to other team members and Ability to take decisions.Flexible to work in shifts.You.
