OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Manage the cost accounting processes, including tracking, analyzing, and reporting on manufacturing costs, product costing, and variances.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses to provide insights into business performance.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with other departments to ensure accuracy and alignment with company goals.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with auditors during the annual audit process and provide necessary documentation.
- Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies to improve business efficiency and profitability.
- Stay current on relevant accounting standards and regulations affecting the manufacturing industry.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
