Assistant Finance Director Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, management, and monitoring of annual budgets, working with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Participate in the creation of multi-year financial projections for program sustainability.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with program and grant teams to support budget development and allocation of resources.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and government regulations, including 990 filings and audit preparations.
- Examine financial statements for not-for-profit organizations
- Provide financial analysis support to program directors and vice presidents in grantmaking divisions
- Confirm and track tax status of grantees and prospective grantees
- Act as project manager for special finance division initiatives
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA or MBA Required
- Proficient in financial statement analysis
- Strong foundation in accounting and finance
- Excellent skills in analysis, critical thinking, and both written and verbal communication
