Position Title: Controller

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting functions of the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive experience in financial management, and a deep understanding of accounting principles. The Controller will ensure accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage the accounting department, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to policies.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual budgeting process, including forecasting future financial needs.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and accruals.
  • Prepare reports for management, board meetings, and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion.
  • Evaluate and implement systems for automating financial and reporting processes.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
