Responsibilities:
As a Strategic Finance Director, you will work on strategic and financial projects that combine analytical rigor with the need to build and maintain strong relationships. This person will be responsible for driving the corporate financial planning and analysis function and will support Lightwave's success by helping to scale and improve our corporate finance functions. You will work with various business partners to provide data-driven insights that inform strategic, financial, and operational decision-making across the company. You will support the VP of Finance directly and the CEO and COO indirectly. A passion for the excitement and challenges of working in a private equity-backed business, exceptional work ethic, and team-oriented mentality is essential for this high impact role.
Responsibilities
• Lead the development and execution of the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. Collaborate with executive leadership to establish ambitious financial goals and strategic initiatives
• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting that includes in-depth analysis, key operating metrics, and explanations of variances and trends; surface actionable insights
• Develop and maintain financial forecasts/models for the business (corporate and practice level) and track key variances, changes and opportunities in actual results vs. budgets and forecasts
• Assist in preparing materials for the executive team, including board decks, investor materials and other executive updates
• Support valuation, M&A, and partnership processes as appropriate
• Complete ad-hoc business projects and analysis that drive decision-making and capital allocation
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Qualifications:
Requirements
• BA/BS degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field
• 7+ years of relevant experience in a finance/analytical role (investment banking, consulting, private equity, or FP&A)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced proficiency in financial modeling and financial statement analysis
• Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts required
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to clearly articulate ideas and drive cross-functional understanding and cooperation across the business
• Empathetic, low-ego leader who can recruit, manage, and retain a strong team
