Overview of Role

As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key player in our accounting team, contributing to the financial success of our organization through your expertise in accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting. With a focus on accuracy and data integrity, you will oversee financial statements, conduct detailed analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support decision-making processes. Your meticulous approach and problem-solving skills will drive process improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial close and quarterly reconciliations.
  • Manage aspects of the organization's revenue streams, including billing, revenue recognition, and reporting in accordance with US GAAP requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and updated revenue recognition and related financial information by triaging data available in our order management software, accounting system, sales platforms and other integrated tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on all customer-related matters.
  • Support and oversee the India accounting and compliance function, including, periodical TDS and GST filings, assist with external audits and ensure timely financial close in line with global accounting close deadlines.
  • Assist with escalating customer inquiries and collections related to revenue.
  • Enhance ongoing accounting for Google specific revenue streams to improve estimation accuracy.
  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity. Identify opportunities for automation and streamlining of tasks.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and financial reporting.
  • Working knowledge of India related compliance needs including TDS and GST.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial records and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and present financial information to stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
