About the organization:
- Our client is a mid-sized nonprofit organization with over $200million in operating budgets and over 50 programs. Their focus is on various ways to help the community through housing, education and providing medical benefits with people with disabilities and addictions. They are made up of smaller nonprofits all with the same mission statement and have been servicing the community for over 50 years.
- This role will be sitting out of their offices in the Bronx that has several train lines such as the B,D and bus lines that are accessible. There is also plenty of street parking
- The position will be reporting into the Controller and will be fully on site.

Responsibilities will include:
- Month end close support; ensuring timely and accurate reporting from program staff and accounting team members
- Managing financial statement production and reporting compilation and review
- General Ledger management (our client uses FundEZ); Balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing CFR and working with NYS & NYC Grant and Billing Vouchers
- Additional ad hoc responsibilities as assigned by the Controller
Preferred experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience, 1+ years in a management position
- Nonprofit experience is preferred but not mandatory; experience in a health, medical or professional services industry is also a plus
- Great communication skills and assertive management style
- Solid Excel skills and experience working with various accounting systems
