This role seeks an experienced accounting professional with an active CPA license. Working out of the NYC office, the Assistant Controller will refine and implement financial reporting tools and systems, and be a hands-on leader.

Description

The key responsibilities of this role include the following:
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing the monthly reporting package
  • Analyze and review balance sheet and income statement analytics
  • Prepare and review financial statements
  • Draft and review earnings releases and presentations for quarterly reporting.
  • Prepare and review REIT tax workpapers.
  • Enhance and implement financial reporting tools and systems.
  • Act as a hands-on leader.
  • Maintain strong management skills.

Profile

The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA license
  • Experience with fixed income financial instruments and mortgage products.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel.
  • Relevant experience in GAAP, SEC Reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
