- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes. Your insights will help shape financial strategy and planning.
- Financial Reporting: Perform complex calculations for purchase price variances and revenue recognition. Assist with month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial reporting tasks.
- Accounts Management: Oversee accounts receivable and payable as needed, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Analysis and Integrity: Conduct monthly actual versus budget analysis and ensure the integrity of financial data through thorough analysis.
- Audit Support: Assist with financial audits by gathering data, preparing schedules, and coordinating with auditors.
- Business Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of manufacturing processes to correlate production data with financial performance.
- Inventory Coordination: Help coordinate the yearly physical inventory to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance metrics that provide valuable insights for business decisions. Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Improvement Recommendations: Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization and make recommendations to enhance product and process profitability.
- Project Support: Assist the Controller with various projects and assignments, contributing to the overall success of the financial team.
- Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling.
- Proficiency with Oracle or similar accounting/ERP systems.
- Experience with fixed asset and lease management is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation abilities.
- Ability to adapt to change and work flexible hours during critical financial periods.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA or CMA is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with metals or heavy manufacturing experience highly desirable. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
