Cal-Maine Foods, Inc., founded in 1957 and headquartered in Mississippi, is the largest producer and distributor of shell eggs in the United States. The Accounting Manager position is a management position responsible for budgeting, payables, cost analysis and financial reporting and analysis to assist management improve operational efficiency and achieve financial goals at one of our affiliated locations processes. Responsibilities also include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing employees performing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions.
Closely monitoring the company's financial health, performance and provide recommendations and take actions to improve company profitability.
Providing tools & reports for management to ensure the team can track and hit financial objectives.
Tracking variances from the budget and working with management to help improve operational efficiency.
Providing financial analyses, as needed, for capital investments, product pricing decisions, and cost analysis.
Maintaining the integrity of the company's financial information.
Developing, implementing, and maintaining financial controls and guidelines.
Preparing internal & external financial statements.
Ensuring all transactional activities are conducted smoothly not limited to payroll, payables, receivables, debt payments, cash disbursements, accruals, reconciliations, etc.
Managing and reconciling the company's balance sheet and other general ledger accounts.
Tracking of purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, as well as reconciliation of back orders and exceptions.
Communicating with marketing department regarding collections/short pays.
Involvement with inventory reconciliation processes.
Tracking and reconciliation of cash and debt.
Maintain the location's employee records.
All other duties which may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in business, accounting, or related field; or, five to eight years related experience and/or training is required.
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant certification is preferred.
Ability to manage others and work independently to complete projects.
Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data.
Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening, along with ability to interact efficiently with vendors, staff and management.
Comfort working in a fast-paced setting and adapt to changing priorities in deadline-driven environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required.

Salary Range:
USD $49,920.00 - USD $80,600.00 /Annually
