JOB OVERVIEW
As a Cost Accountancy Manager, your primary responsibility is to manage and oversee the cost accounting function within an organization. You will be responsible for analyzing costs, developing cost-control strategies, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. Your role is crucial in optimizing costs, improving profitability, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Duties and responsibilities
Develop and implement cost accounting policies, procedures, and systems to accurately track and analyze costs. Oversee the preparation and analysis of cost reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS), standard costs, variances, and profitability analysis. Conduct cost audits and reviews to identify areas of cost improvement and cost control opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, procurement, sales, marketing, custom, and finance, to gather cost-related data and ensure accurate cost allocation. Analyze production processes, material usage, labor costs, and overhead expenses to identify cost-saving initiatives and recommend process improvements. Monitor inventory levels, valuation, and inventory cost accuracy, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Develop and maintain cost models and cost forecasting techniques to support budgeting and financial planning processes. Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for strategic decision-making, such as pricing, product profitability, and cost reduction initiatives. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the review and analysis of cost-related journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely cost-related financial reporting, including cost of sales, inventory valuation, and cost-related disclosures. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in cost accounting and cost management. Train and mentor staff members within the cost accounting department, providing guidance and support in cost-related matters.

- Ability to work independently and lead a team of cost accountants.
