This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, cost management, and inventory control within our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities of the Manufacturing:
- Cost Accounting:
- Analyze and manage production costs, including labor, material, and overhead expenses.
- Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts to support financial planning.
- Monitor and report on manufacturing variances and provide actionable insights to management.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory accounting, including the reconciliation of physical inventory counts with system records.
- Maintain accurate inventory valuation in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Collaborate with operations to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements related to manufacturing operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Work with the finance team to develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations.
- Provide financial analysis and support to operational managers, helping them understand financial performance and make informed decisions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of cost control strategies.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and inventory management.
- Support the integration of new systems or tools to improve financial and operational reporting capabilities.
Qualifications of the Manufacturing:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting or cost accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
