Overview:
The Senior Project Controller is responsible for planning, directing, and reporting on the accounting, budgeting, and financial compliance for all assigned projects. This includes managing accounting processes and records as well as the timely and accurate production of financial reporting to closely monitor and report on the project's overall financial health.

Responsibilities:
Manages all project financials including, but not limited to the following:Financial reporting

Forecasting (work with planner/scheduler)

Budgeting

M/Y close

Variance analysis, including in-depth monthly actuals vs forecast review

Monitor, update and escalate issues with EAC

Compilation and submission of invoice in accordance with established SOP

Accounts receivable oversight and escalation

Ad hoc analysis into unplanned cost, margin, or revenue variances

Provides onboarding and training support to other project Controllers

Works across functional areas to collect information and establish ROMs, task orders and project pricing.

Tracks and controls project costs by aligning real-time expenditures with the established BOM/bid.

Regularly updates financial dashboards and maintains up to date information readily available to stakeholders and decision makers.

Establishes and maintains appropriate task code structure, task relationships, and task assignments for new and maintenance programs.

Builds financial modeling tools as necessary to support business objectives.

Works closely with PM to advise on financial impact of business decisions.

Must have thorough knowledge of the contract details to avoid breach of contract; periodically reviews contract to stay abreast or any amendments and ensure compliance.

The candidate is knowledgeable of project-driven revenue recognition rules, including percent complete, time & material, and operations/fixed revenue recognition rules.

Works closely with stakeholders including program customers, ETC leadership and program management teams; as business partner.

Ensures accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks and balances.

Ensures that accounts payable are paid in accordance with specifications and that debt is serviced appropriately.

In charge of project financial analysis, with emphasis on pricing decisions, and contract adherence and negotiation.

Responsible for project cash forecasting and highlighting liquidity issues before they become critical.

Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary.

Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities:

Highly analytical with above average attention to detail and a strong bias for quality.

Above average communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate via written and verbal methods to various levels of the organization.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership and coordination of staff and resources.

Ability to identify and evaluate complex problems and implement appropriate solutions.

Ability to monitor and assess the performance as well as the financial health of the project to make improvements or take corrective action.

Ability to work effectively with various levels of the organization, including Executives and external stakeholders.

Strong organizational, time management and documentation skills.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience required.

3 to 5 years of progressive accounting or project planning, controller experience required.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Previous experience in a Project Controller role, preferably in software solutions or professional services.

Tolling industry experience helpful but not required

CPA or CMA designation preferred
