Senior Accountant - Bank

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the bank's general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions and adherence to accounting principles.
  • Lead the monthly bank reconciliation process, promptly resolving discrepancies and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, monitoring payment cycles and optimizing cash flow management.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, providing valuable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors, facilitating smooth audit processes and addressing inquiries.
  • Manage fixed asset records and depreciation calculations, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
  • Assist in regulatory reporting and compliance, ensuring adherence to banking regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development and growth.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role within the banking or financial services industry.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, accounting software, and financial systems.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
  • Strong leadership abilities and a collaborative team player.
  • Upholds the highest ethical standards and maintains confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Prologue or Fiserv experience.
