Position Overview: The Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective internal controls. This role involves managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, and collaborating with other departments to support strategic decision-making.
Description
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including overseeing their daily activities, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support financial planning.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other legal requirements. Prepare and manage tax filings and audits.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and prepare reports on financial performance, variances, and trends. Support management with actionable insights.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operations and finance, to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Food manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
