The mission of this role: As the Regional Finance Director, your mission is to provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the regional business operations. You will partner with the VP of Operations Finance and FP&A, Senior Director of Finance Operations in APAC, as well as the Regional General Managers, to drive financial performance, achieve business objectives, and support the overall success of the organization at the same time of serving customers with excellent technologies and products. You will lead a diverse finance team responsible for various functions, ensuring that financial decisions are driven by actionable insights and aligned with the company's key leadership principles. Scope of the role: As the co-pilot to the business and a member of APAC finance and India regional leadership team, you will oversee multiple finance functions, including Commercial Finance, Plant Finance (dotted line), Engineering Finance, budgeting, forecasting, business case preparation, assessing business risks, and Accounting while working closely with the regional Tax and Treasury teams. Your scope will encompass financial activities for the entire region and will be instrumental in delivering the company's financial results through decisive actions and effective financial planning. Accountabilities and Success Measures Key accountability Success measures Financial Performance • Drive and optimize the region's financial performance by analyzing market trends, sales data, and cost factors. • Develop strategies to maximize revenue, control costs, and improve overall profitability. • Monitor and control capex spending as well as MFG operation spending to meet the size and growth speed of business • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making. • Achievement of revenue, profitability and cashflow targets for the region. • Successful implementation of cost control measures and efficiency improvements. • Positive contributions to overall business performance. Financial Planning and Analysis • Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the region. • Monitor financial performance against targets and provide regular variance analysis and reporting. • Identify risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies. • Formulate ad hoc financial reports to regional and global leadership team to dive into details and drive actions to meet short-term and long-term financial commitments • Timely and accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. • Proactive identification and resolution of financial challenges. Commercial and Customer Finance • Collaborate with commercial, manufacturing, and engineering teams to develop customer quotes and secure commercial recoveries from customers for elevated semiconductor costs. • Manage business equation for the region to enhance profitability. • Achieve regional NBW targets with a path towards global profitability targets 2026 • Secure customer recovery targets • Financial Operations and Compliance • Ensure proper accounting and adherence to financial regulations. • Ensure proper controls are in place • Audit readiness and compliance with all accounting standards. • Eliminate or significantly reduce need for prior period adjustments Engineering Finance and Cost Optimization • Partner with engineering teams to drive efficiencies and cost reductions in the development and production processes. • Drive software productivity for regional programs • Implementation of cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and performance. Finance Team Leadership • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team to achieve departmental goals. • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability. • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team to achieve departmental goals. • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability. • Empower team to be proactive in delivering and learning Other Finance Operations Responsibilities • Lead and direct team for various statutory and local tax reporting, local legal compliance related activities • Authorize purchasing, payroll payment, sourcing, bank payment, and execute global decisions for operations in India region • Lead and direct team to work with various auditors, including but not limited to internal audit, external audit and customer audit. • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team to achieve departmental goals. • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
Key experience required
Key experience required
- Chartered Accountant or similar professional degree with 15 plus years relevant corporate experience in Accounting & Finance
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA, CFA, CMA, or CPA preferred).
- Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in finance leadership roles, preferably within a multinational company.
- Strong track record of financial performance management, cost optimization, and strategic planning, in manufacturing industry (must) (auto-parts industry preferred) (experience in service industry, such as R&D and consulting, is a plus).
- High level of integrity.
- Experience in managing diverse finance functions and teams.
- Experience in matrix organization, guiding cross functional business leaders, stakeholders as well as external agencies, with speed and agility in operations (project management experience preferred)
- Financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting with strategic view as well as short-term focus.
- Financial analysis and modeling.
- Risk management and compliance.
- Commercial finance and pricing strategies.
- Accounting and tax principles, for local India (I-GAAP) as well as U.S. GAAP.
