Client Details
The Financial Controller - Construction will be a key part of the Leadership team for a Well-Established General Contracting Construction Company based in the Bergen County, NJ. The role will oversee the Accounting team and be a key Finance Business Partner to Divisional Heads in Operations. Description
Construction Project Accounting and Reporting:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of construction project accounting.
- Prepare and analyze project financial reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of project costs, revenues, and profitability.
- Monitor project budgets and forecasts.
Procore Invoicing, Project Collections, and Communications:
- Manage invoicing through Procore software.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing to clients.
- Oversee project collections and resolve any billing issues.
- Maintain effective communication with project managers and clients regarding financial matters.
Effective Communication with Project Team Members:
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure financial transparency.
- Provide financial insights and support for project decision-making.
Responsible for the Accounting Team including A/P and A/R Functions:
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Act as a backup for A/P and A/R functions when necessary.
Monthly Accounting Functions
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
- Assist with annual audits and tax preparations.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Profile
- CPA (preferred, not essential)
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Field
- 10 + years of Construction Accounting tenure
- Finance team leadership experience
- Systems: Procore, Sage 300 Intacct etc
