The Financial Controls team is charged with the design and build of a robust financial controls framework for LSEG.This includes scoping, risk identification, design of controls, testing of those controls and serving as a 2LoD function for management.The team is part of the larger LSEG Finance organization and reports to the Group Controller. The team also plays a significant role in ensuring that LSEG is ready for anticipated changes following the UK Corporate Governance and Reforms (e.g. introduction of UK SOX).
LSEG is embarking on a multi-year Finance Transformation journey. We are delivering our Finance Vision by transforming the way we work to build value and deliver balanced growth for the business. The ERPM Program (one aspect of Finance Transformation) will drive efficiency and improve benefits on Billing, Accounting, Finance Operations and Reporting for LSEG by replacing two ERPs with one integrated Oracle Cloud Platform.
The successful candidate will be play a key role in designing controls within Oracle Cloud Platform as well as partnering with 1LoD around the design of existing controls until such time LSEG moves into a new ERP.
You will also lead with the detailed process & controls walkthroughs, assess design of controls to mitigate risks monitor implementation of changes produce control-related documentation coordinate the evaluation and remediation of control issues support the quarterly control attestation process, support external audit requirements, assist the business on control optimization and rationalization and provide training on key focussed areas as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify opportunities to further enhance the control environment either through automation or stopping non-value add activities
- Perform Design Effectiveness Assessment (DEA) of end-to-end processes (ensuring changes identified in the walkthroughs are documented and implemented)
- Produce and/or review control artefacts (e.g. risk and control matrices, process narratives)
- Design and deliver workshops/trainings which are focussed in enhancing risk and controls understanding across 1LoD
- Partner with 1LoD in developing remediation plan for any design gaps/ control deficiencies and support in assessing impact of any control deficiency
- Ensure control issues are logged into central GRC tool (e.g. MetricStream, SAP GRC)
- Manage Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) within GRC tool
- Support in the annual scoping and risk assessment exercise
- Supervise and support less experienced members of the team
- Support external audit around control assurance efforts
- Collaborate with 2LoD and 3LoD on key initiatives and/or any ongoing assurance efforts
- Collaborate with other members of Financial Controls team (e.g. Assurance team)
- Contribute in designing controls for the new ERP
- Collaborate with the External audit team
- Lead deep dives on specific areas (e.g. fraud risks)
- Support in developing KRIs (Key Risk Indicators)

- Knowledge of internal control design assessments including documenting processes and identifying potential risk or control gaps.
- Ability to adapt to change and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to understand complex issues outside their experience and expertise and facilitate resolution across multiple functions/managing across boundaries is essential
- Supervising and reviewing work of less experienced members of the team
- Demonstrate ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion.
- Capable of working independently with little guidance.
- University (equivalent) degree and CA/ACCA (equivalent).
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with peers and management globally.
- Strong command of Office applications.
- Prior experience of ERP implementation
- Familiarity with GRC tools (ORMC, MetricStream, SAP GRC)
- Experience in/working knowledge of IT Automated Controls
Experience level:
- 10+ years audit, risk and controls assessment experience preferably with US listed companies (i.e. SOX audits)
