Position Overview:

Leading the company's revenue accounting activities in a newly formed organization, the Revenue Accountant II would be expected to work in conjunction with the Controller and Manager of Revenue to form the revenue accounting function, its processes, policies and controls in alignment with the company's business goals and in accordance to finance best practices.

The Revenue Accountant II will take leading part in further improving the Company's revenue recognition processes, reporting, and revenue records within its ERP System - Netsuite. The Revenue Accountant II is responsible for reviewing contracts for proper revenue recognition as well as revenue reporting. The position will help with contract review, revenue-related financial statement disclosures, new product additions control execution, and annual financial statement audits. The position collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and Operations regularly.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Revenue Accounting:
  • Reconciling assigned Company's deferred revenue accounts on a monthly basis
  • Preparing and posting revenue related entries under the guidance of the Revenue Manager, Global Accounting Manager, Controller, or Senior Revenue Accountant
  • Providing recalculations of revenue earned, deferred revenue, billings, etc on request
  • Routinely reviewing the Company's revenue ledger accounts for unusual activity


Customer Contract Review:
  • Reviewing customer contracts and identifying performance obligations, pricing and verifying the contracts aligns with the inputs in the associated financial systems (eg. Salesforce, Netsuite)
  • Adept in creating ad-hoc revenue arrangement and plan reports for internal review and external reporting.


Financial Reporting:
  • Supporting the monthly review of revenue to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Leads reviews over cutoff, samples and reviews transactions to test controls.


Compliance:
  • Assigned to specific year end audit schedules (eg. rollforwards, lead schedules, tie outs for the Company's global consolidated audit or local statutory audits)
  • Coordinating with Order to Management Team to pull audit related requests (eg. Customer contracts, customer invoices, payment support, proof of delivery documentation, etc).


Professional Skill Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of public or private experience with a strong background in ASC606
  • Technical knowledge of US GAAP with a specific focus on the accurate recognition of revenue in accordance with US GAAP, ASC606
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences in different functions and geographic locations).
  • Advanced Excel (X-lookup, Pivots, SUMIFS)
  • Netsuite experience (preferably at least two years of experience with Revenue Arrangements & Revenue Plans)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills


Education Requirements:
  • MBA Graduate (India)
  • Bachelors (US)
  • Chartered Accountant/CPA (preferred)
