Roles and responsibilities
We are recruiting for a Manager in the Global Compliance Management Services (GCMS) team - Statutory Accounting. Working as a Manager in this team, your responsibilities will include:
Managing a team of staff to execute on client engagements and US / ROW practice development initiatives related to technical accounting, transaction advisory and Finalization of Statutory Accounts under IFRS and US GAAP. This will include:
•Reviewing Statutory Accounts under IFRS and US GAAP.
•Reviewing Reporting GAAP to Local Conversion - Recognition and measurement (including disclosures)
•Working directly with the onshore engagement team on a daily basis todeliver work to onshore clients;
•Managing a team of staff to support the engagement delivery andmanaging staffing resource decisions as required for the engagement
•Reviewing staff work and providing feedback and training as required
•Acting as a performance manager for the staff and being involved inthe career development of the staff
•Training the staff on various US GAAP/IFRS/SEC Reporting guidance
•Delivering on a range of technical accounting and transaction advisoryengagements. This will include:
Acting as a Subject Matter Expert on technical accountingmatters (US GAAP/IFRS).
Providing accounting advisory support and research to clients,including implementation assistance with new accountingstandards
Assisting with Securities Exchange Commission (SEC)regulatory filings for spin-offs, carve-outs, initial publicofferings (IPO), debt offerings, and other acquisition filings forboth domestic and cross-border transactions
Providing conversion services to U.S. and foreign registeredcompanies that need a change in their financial reporting to
U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) orInternational Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Providing transaction oriented accounting and reportingassistance for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, complexcapital raising and financing structures, financial instruments,revenue recognition, and provide fresh-start accountingsupport to clients upon emergence from bankruptcy
Coordinating with on-shore technical accounting teams tounderstand their accounting issue(s) and provide researchassistance on an as-needed basis on U.S. GAAP and IFRSaccounting pronouncements.
Authoring on an as-needed basis white-papers, positionpapers, etc., on technical accounting matters for whichresearch was performed. To research and author proactively,accounting white papers, position papers, etc. relating tocurrent and anticipated industry/economic developments insuch a way that these can then be used to pitch to potentialclients for firm services.
Supporting onshore business development related to areassuch as proposals for new business, US GAAP/IFRSconvergence, new accounting pronouncements and otherregulatory changes which impact accounting decisions
Take an active role in building and developing the AAS practice at KGS. This will include:
•Acting as a member of the Global Compliance Management Services(GCMS) management team at KGS and making decisions on a range ofpractice operations and development initiatives, including staff training,performance management, and business development.
•Taking an active role in developing the skill sets and competencies ofthe staff members
•Building relationships with the onshore teams in order to drive hoursoffshore.

CA / CPA / ACCA / Semi Qualified
Prior Experience:
Chartered Accountant (ICAI or ACCA) or CPA with 6+yrs (or 9+ for Semi Qualified) of post qualification financial audit experience with a public accounting or advisory firm plus training experience in same or similar organization, or equal number of experience in financial reporting / consolidation experience with a Fortune 500 organization or similar large organization in India.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college/university projects and must have good knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP
Must have extensive experience in Review / Finalization of Statutory Accounts under IFRS and US GAAP.
Project and Team management exposure
• Prior experience in project scoping, effort estimate, project work planning, team handling, staffing, providing feedback, etc.
• Led team on projects and experience of handling direct reportees including their performance management
• Credible record of operating as an independent contributor and also working as part of a team during larger projects
• Evidence of managing client / stakeholder relationships, preferably in an off- shore / on-shore environment.
Technical skills:
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS, Finalization of Financial Statements under IFRS and US GAAP MUST. Ability to research, read, comprehend and critically examine accounting standards and other pronouncements in order to have an informed point of view is a MUST.
• Additional expose to SEC reporting requirements is preferred.
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills and the ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
