Role Purpose

Join our dynamic telecommunications company, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our customers worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Accountant to join our General Accounting Team in Pune. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant, preferably Big 4 trained, to contribute to our financial success. Telecoms experience is preferred, along with expertise in process improvement, statutory accounts preparation, and strong proficiency in Oracle Fusion and FCCS or Hyperion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget Management: Assist in the development, monitoring, and management of SG&A (Selling, General, and Administrative) budgets for the multinational digital infrastructure company.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze SG&A expenses, identifying trends, variances, and areas of opportunity for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
  • Forecasting: Support the forecasting process for SG&A expenses, collaborating with business units and functional leaders to develop accurate and timely forecasts.
  • Accruals and Prepayments: Ensure accurate recording and reporting of SG&A expenses through the timely processing of accruals, prepayments, and adjustments in Oracle Fusion or similar ERP system.
  • Expense Allocation: Allocate shared expenses and overhead costs to appropriate cost centres or business units based on predetermined methodologies and allocation keys.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute periodic financial reports and dashboards related to SG&A expenses, providing insights and recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis of actual vs. budgeted or forecasted SG&A expenses, investigating discrepancies and communicating findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls related to SG&A cost control and reporting activities.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve SG&A cost control processes, implementing best practices, automation, and efficiencies where possible.


Individual Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis, preferably in a multinational company.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems, with experience in cost control, budget management, and financial reporting modules.
  • Strong understanding of SG&A cost components, including personnel expenses, overhead costs, and discretionary spending.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate large datasets, perform complex calculations, and create financial models.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity in financial reporting and analysis.


Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the technology or digital infrastructure industry, with knowledge of industry-specific cost structures and drivers.
  • Familiarity with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes, including forecasting, variance analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Experience with cost allocation methodologies and models, including activity-based costing (ABC) or driver-based costing.
  • Certification such as Institute of Cost and Works Accountant, CIMA, Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP).
  • Project management skills and experience leading process improvement initiatives.
