Overview This is an Assistant Manager Financial Accounting role focused on supporting the UK. The role reports directly to the Head of Financial Control RS, India and will work closely with the Head of Business Performance & Analysis UK, based in the UK. MUFG Retirement Solutions is a fast paced, and evolving business and your ability to seek opportunities to improve processes and provide insight is critical to the success of this role. The role has primary responsibility for supporting the UK with respect to all financial control responsibilities related to the UK, including, posting the actuals, performing a monthly analysis of actuals versus budget and forecast, reconciliations, regulatory reporting and production of annual statutory accounts. The success of this role will require the individual to understand the RS UK business and control environment as well as being technically strong to ensure transactions are booked appropriately. The successful individual will need to be able to work well across borders, within the broader India and UK team and have a focus on process improvement.

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Strategic Focus
- Support the Head of Business Performance and Analysis UK, ensuring there is good financial governance with respect to UK financial accounting.
- Able to review accounting practices and ensure transactions are booked appropriately.
- Able to report monthly results and provide business partners with valuable analysis and insights for the UK businesses.
- Able to adapt quickly and appropriately when processes change.
- Able to drive process improvement.
- Responsible for monthly booking of actuals.
- Ensure adherence to monthly reporting timelines.
- Prepare the analysis and reporting of actuals for the Head of BP&A UK.
- Ensure different transaction types are understood and booked to the correct accounts.
- Support in preparation of Financial Statements for the UK RS entities.
- Support in Audit queries and preparation of supporting documents.
- Support in the preparation of Group reporting packs at half year end and year end.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with JSOX.
- Ensure processes are improved and automated wherever possible.
- Ensure processes are adapted when transaction types change or upstream processes are changed.
- Contribute to the broader Financial Control RS responsibilities (i.e. JSOX and reconciliations).
- Demonstrate strong self-leadership by showing initiative and demonstrating professional behaviours.
- Work collaboratively with broader finance team members and across the business.
- Actively contribute to the broader team's knowledge and capability.
- Ensure full adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and the good conduct of the businesses, maintaining ongoing compliance and upholding the reputation of MUFG Retirement Solutions.
- Achievement of business objectives and the maintenance of ongoing regulatory compliance.

- 8+ years’ experience working in finance roles preferably MNC's, ideally with some exposure to business partnering role.
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- In addition to strong technical finance skills, the successful candidate will be a strategic and agile thinker.
- Ability to participate in re-engineering.
- Comfortable working in a large multi-currency global organisation.
- Should have exposure of working on ERP Software
