Reporting to the divisional Financial Controlling Director within Data& Analytics Division. This position leads a distributed team which is responsible for operational and technical controllership of the FTSE Russell, Workflows and Analytics businesses and ensuring compliance and enhancing data accuracy, policies and procedures. It requires close interaction with the D&A finance leadership team and finance leaders across LSEG as well as close coordination with the Centre of Excellence team.

About This Role

This role is responsible for the delivery of high-quality management reporting and controllership to the Business Finance, Sales Accounting Management and Group Reporting team. The role requires strong relationship building with Business Finance, Corporate Functions, Internal and External audit, external customers and within the Divisional controllership community and is critical in ensuring that all costs, commitments and liabilities are accurately recorded on a timely basis. This role will provide support and control of the divisional Balance Sheets and Income statement and ensure that the financial statements reflects LSEG accounting Policy.

Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities


  • Be the conscious keeper of actuals reporting for the division: review key manual journal entries, fixed assets accounting entries and key revenue accounting accruals and ensure it is inline with the LSEG accounting policies and guidelines.
  • Monitors preparing and review of financial documents (internal/external) of business/geography/function/division in a timely and accurate manner and support analyses of material variances.
  • Exercising strong control over monthly close for assigned markets in alignment with the group's reporting policies and standards (including but not limited to IFRS15 & IFRS9).
  • Identifies opportunities to mitigate risks and strive for robust control environment.
  • Verifies financial data in compliance with the Group procedures periodically, and monitors and coordinates responses to audits.
  • Partners with the other functions (e.g. Tax, Sales and Accounts Management, Billing, COE- General accounting, etc.) on the cross functional continuous process improvement agenda, compliance and aligns on RACI.
  • Senior Stakeholder management skills to effectively communicate with ability to have a good connect with relevant business partners and be a fine team contributor.
  • Ensuring compliance of Control Framework Management and adhering to its timelines
  • Ready to learn / adapt to new financial reporting systems.
  • Strong acumen not restricting at looking for the actual financial results but also understanding its implications in the future and taking essential actions
  • Clear thinking, problem solving; successfully led projects / operational improvements.

Requirements

  • CPA/CA degree or equivalent in Finance with hands on experience in IFRS based accounting
  • At least 8+ years of prior experience in Big4 or MNC preferably from service industry
  • Experience of working with systems : SAP, Oracle, Pyramid, Hyperion, Salesforce an added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills: both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly and concisely interact with personnel at all management levels
  • Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.
  • Clear thinking/problem solving; successfully led projects/operational improvements within operations/finance function.
  • Flexibility to work per UK hours.
  • Mid- high Proficiency in German and Spanish language (only for specific roles)
