Job Summary:
The Plant Controller is a key leader within the company and contributes to all areas of the business, including financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and financial management. The Plant Controller is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and leading improvements to financial systems and site performance.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Prepare, present and file accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Develop and manage annual budget and forecasts, and other forecasts as needed.
Monitor and control costs to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis.
Works with external auditors and tax advisors to provide needed information for annual audits and returns.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Monitor and implement plant internal controls as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets and identify risks.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software.

Compensation: $135,000 and up depending on qualification and experience

- 5 years' experience in Accounting, or Finance in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry. Metals related manufacturing preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Strong Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards.
- Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection.
- Proven ability to drive change and automation within the accounting function.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines.
- Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams to reach a common goal.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
