About the Role
The Senior Accountant/Team Lead will primarily focus on the annual financial close process, preparation and review of statutory accounts, and other compliance obligations. This role will work on various accounting projects as part of the continuous improvement of the statutory compliance process and demonstrate leadership within the team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in forming the International Accounting team focused on the APAC region.

About the Role
The Senior Accountant/Team Lead will primarily focus on the annual financial close process, preparation and review of statutory accounts, and other compliance obligations. This role will work on various accounting projects as part of the continuous improvement of the statutory compliance process and demonstrate leadership within the team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in forming the International Accounting team focused on the APAC region.
- Preparation of extended trial balance for annual statutory accounts for several legal entities in EMEA/APAC reqion in line with internal work processes.
- Preparation and review of financial statements for several legal entities in EMEA/APAC reqion
- Liaise with audit teams and other advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of all statutory obligations.
- Experience with working across international accounting standards including US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP.
- Collaborate with internal team members to develop and continually improve processes and systems for both financial and reporting.
- Completion of quarterly and annual financial close processes. Prepare journal entries, review general ledger accounts, and prepare reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP/IFRS.
- Working cross-functionally internally, specifically with internal tax and legal teams.
- Review of statistical returns.
- Participation in accounting projects to bring continuous improvement to compliance driving.
- Proactive leading is essential, working independently as much as possible and achieving the team's compliance deadlines, achievements, and delivery of timely compliance requests.
- Point of escalation for any compliance issues internally or externally with timely resolutions obtained.
- Project Lead on compliance-related projects, with an ability to manage deliverables, communicate outcomes, and have overall oversight.

Basic Qualifications
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accreditation
- 5+ years post-qualification education or equivalent

- Experience in making tactical decisions to help solve complex and strategic problems.
- Proven track record to deliver high productivity and use focused time effectively.
- Experience in Shared Service Centres, preferably in a complex global accounting environment.
- Proficient and comfortable with technical accounting and interpretation across US GAAP, IFRS and global reporting.
- They will work as part of a cohesive team of global finance professionals and will need to be able to support the achievement of the team's goals while managing individual responsibilities.
- Team player who creates and maintains effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently, a self-starter with minimal direction and guidance needed.
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) - need to communicate to all levels within the business.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, ability to multitask, plan and prioritize work schedules and work within agreed timescales.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure and a demanding environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on a high-level overview.
- Demonstrates statutory accounting background and qualifications.
- Fast learner, picking up a new environment and relationship, 'can do' attitude & hands-on approach.
- Flexibility to work across different time zones with other finance teams in Ireland and the US (when required).
