We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated accountant that wants to join an experienced solar development business with world class capital backing that is about to undergo a period of rapid expansion, growing the team and their own career development in the process.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced accountant to be based in Bengaluru, India to manage entity controllership functions. Reporting to Senior Manager Finance, the successful candidate will support the suite of companies across Blueleaf energy's footprint.
The role will not only co-ordinate with Blueleaf Energy's outsourced service providers but also implement appropriate controls across Blueleaf Energy's legal entities to deliver state of art accounting and tax compliance practices in accordance with applicable generally accepted accounting principles and local laws.
With the rapid growth of projects under development, together with Head of finance, the candidate will ensure complete adoption of relevant accounting pronouncements and adherence to compliant Transfer Pricing policies and standards.
As a member of the Finance function, you will be a valued and integral partner with each of Blueleaf Energy's appointed advisors, whilst continuously challenging the status quo and looking for opportunities to position the finance function in the most efficient model that also promotes a positive stakeholder experience.
Entity Controller (Full Time)
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate & timely accounting in accordance with company's finance policies / standards and applicable GAAPs for designated legal entities
Review G/L accounts and perform various reconciliations including Balance Sheet substantiation
Prepare financials & schedules and report financial performance as per prescribed timelines
Adhere to closing deadlines and perform month end closing activities
Support various audits like external audit, tax audit etc. of designated legal entities and be one-point contact for queries & clarifications
Coordinate with tax agents to ensure timely tax return filings such as filing of CIT returns, GST/ VAT returns, WHT returns etc. and 100% compliance with applicable tax laws
Ensure complete and accurate adoption & compliance of country specific regulations, if any
Continuously review the processes, identify risks and help mitigate the same to ensure a risk-free environment in the organisation
Maintain a collaborative partnership with the relevant in-country business controller, supporting the project development and in-country regulatory reporting needs as required
Ensure supporting documentation to substantiate various transactions or tasks
Partner with cross functions for assigned team tasks or projects
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Your Skills:
A qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA) with over 5 years of experience or an MBA finance graduate with 10 years of strong experience in financial accounting and reporting
Candidate with IFRS knowledge and/or exposure to project accounting is preferable
Hands on experience in managing statutory compliances like VAT/GST, CIT, WHT return filings
Fluency in English with professional attitude and eye for details
A good team player with eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges
Strong in effective communication and problem solving with an innate ability to distill information into an easily digestible format for consumption by impacted stakeholders
A self-starter with a change mindset, able to identify risks and opportunities, effectively communicate them to seek buy-in, and successfully implement the proposed recommendations
Advance skills in MS-Office suite (Power BI, MS Excel)
Proficient in enterprise grade General Ledgers like Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics etc.
Skills: Sap, WHT, Ms Dynamics, Gst, Vat, Ifrs, Oracle
Experience: 5.00-10.00 Years
