After the transaction closes, this position will be aligned to the new Payroll & Professional Services owned by HIG Capital ('Divested Group'). Overall purpose of the job

As part of continued growth within the Alight NGA Kochi shared services division, Alight NGA HR are now seeking potential candidate to join the Finance Controllership team. The ideal candidate will need to be proficient in accounting and he/she must be able to work collaboratively with teams to execute tasks within defined timeframes while maintaining high-quality standards and superior service levels. The ability to take proactive actions and willingness to take up responsibility beyond the assigned work area is a plus.

Roles And Responsibilities


  • Analyse and assess complex contracts to identify pertinent financial terms, schedules, and criteria for revenue recognition.
  • Prepare and maintain various schedules, including deferred revenue and rollforward schedules.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue and conduct variance analysis to ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of financial data.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for reporting deadlines.
  • Review journal entries and postings to ensure proper classification and coding.
  • Liaise with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits to furnish support for revenue recognition policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls and processes aimed at enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of revenue accounting operations.
  • Adhere to SOX controls stipulated by the SOX team.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support for special projects as required.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Resolve ad-hoc queries from onsite counterparts.

Requirements

  • Relevant Experience: Minimum of 8 years in Revenue Accounting, General Ledger,
  • Education: Postgraduate degree in Commerce (preferred) or qualified/semi-qualified ACA/ACCA/CMA/CIMA or MBA (Finance).
  • Experience in interpreting complex contracts and discerning key financial terms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Workday).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
