You will have incredibly strong accounting and revenue recognition expertise, and analytical skills, work smartly, a good communicator and leader, yet humble enough to roll up your sleeves and get into the details.

What will you do

• Assist and Support monthly closing activities including, but not limited to, reviewing non-routine revenue transactions, performing accounting assessments, preparing accurate journal entries, reconciliations, data analysis, documenting revenue conclusions and ad hoc requests
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for various revenue accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP
• Perform reviews of revenue transactions of acquired contracts for accounting compliance with applicable US GAAP
• Understanding and application of various business models of the software industry including SAAS offerings
• Identify actionable insights and suggest recommendations to address issues and improve accounting processes/efficiencies
• Partner closely with cross-functional to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices, automation, and continuous process improvements
• To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude
• Should have sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices and demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment

Who You Are & What Makes You Qualified

• Must be, or recently have been, a senior revenue accountant or the assistant revenue manager for a company in the software space

• Must have a CPA/CA and a bachelor s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a corporate finance environment, ideally including 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting of software and cloud-based offerings.
• Experience in SAP/HANA 4 is a plus
• Must have an understanding of ASC 606 and preferably have worked in a company that has been through the adoption of the new standard
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to efficiently provide high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate complex scenarios and topics in a clear and ingestible manner to the team and senior management
• Above all else, a willingness to undertake all projects to support your teammates and improve the overall effectiveness of the function.
