  • Our client, a privately owned construction company, is in need for a Sr Accountant/Assistant Controller. The accounting department is expanding and the Controller is looking for a top-notch right hand person to handle day to day accounting and track construction projects. This is an excellent contract to hire opportunity!

$35/hour + 1.5 OT ($70-80K salary when converts to permanent)

Location: greater Cherry Hill, NJ area
  • Job description:
  • Provide support to the Controller for all of month end processes and procedures
  • Review, approve, and process payroll, expense reports, and time cards.
  • Maintain construction project-level accounting records
  • Management of monthly invoicing and cost tracking, processing of change orders and progress payments, etc.
  • Manage entry of costs and receivables into ERP construction accounting system
  • Process AP invoices, requisitions, and purchase orders, ensure accuracy and timeliness of all payments
  • Ensure project general requirement and labor costs are current and accurate
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, costs-to-complete and actual costs per project
  • Provide project profitability reporting to the Project Manager (PM), Operations and Accounting teams
  • Identify any project budget overruns and projections

Requirements:
  • 2 + years of experience
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Construction industry accounting experience a plus
